Twilio SMS (A2P 10DLC)

Carrier registration required. Approval runs 3-5 business days.

All business SMS in the US must be registered under A2P 10DLC rules enforced by mobile carriers. Thorbis submits your brand and campaign registration automatically when you enable SMS. Once approved, you get a dedicated local number for job notifications, review requests, and two-way customer messaging.

Your first 45 days

This is the same rollout sequence our success team uses with every new customer. Follow it in order and you'll be fully operational, with real jobs, real payments, and a trained team, before the end of your second month.

SWITCHING SYSTEMS

Migration checklist

Moving from ServiceTitan, Jobber, Housecall Pro, or FieldEdge? Use this checklist to prepare your data exports before your Thorbis account is created. Clean data in means clean data out.

Customer Data

  • Export customer list from current system

    Required CSV columns: first_name, last_name, email, phone, address, city, state, zip. Optional: company_name, notes, customer_type.

  • Export job history, past 12 months recommended

    Older records can be imported later as reference-only. Focus on the last 12 months for active customer context and equipment history.

  • Export equipment and asset list

    Each asset record should include: equipment_type, make, model, serial_number, install_date, location (linked to property address).

Price Book

  • Export price book items from your current system

    Required: item_name, item_type (service/material/equipment), unit_price. Optional: cost, sku, description, taxable.

  • Audit and clean pricing before import

    Remove discontinued items. Update rates that haven't been touched in over 12 months. Thorbis price book supports flat-rate and time-and-material configurations.

Team Setup

  • Map technician roles to Thorbis role types

    Available roles: technician, lead_technician, dispatcher, admin, csr. Each role controls what the user sees and can edit in the dashboard and field app.

  • Collect technician email addresses for invitations

    Invites are sent from your Thorbis account. Keep technician email addresses ready so mobile access can be enabled cleanly during rollout.

  • Configure working hours per technician

    Set default shift hours and days. Override available on a per-job basis. Working hours feed into schedule conflict detection and route optimization.

Go-Live Validation

  • Test first invoice end-to-end before going live

    Create a test job, add line items, generate an invoice, and send it to yourself. Confirm PDF renders correctly, pay link works, and payment posts to your Payrix account.

  • Confirm technician can access and update a test job from mobile

    Create a test job assigned to one technician. Have them open it in the app, update the status, upload a photo, and collect a signature. Verify all data appears in the dashboard.

  • Verify QuickBooks sync is posting transactions correctly

    After connecting QuickBooks, create a test invoice and confirm the sync posts to the correct income account. Check that customer records map cleanly across both systems.

Plan for 2-3 hours of data prep

Most migrations from ServiceTitan or Jobber take 2-3 hours of prep work: exporting, cleaning column headers, and removing test or duplicate records. The actual import into Thorbis runs in minutes. Do not skip the end-to-end invoice test before going live, it's the fastest way to catch mapping errors before they affect real customers.

Every plan includes a $100/month utilities credit covering phone numbers, calling, SMS/MMS, video, AI actions, storage, and API. It resets monthly with no rollover. Emails, invoices, estimates, and standard automations are included, never metered.

Usage past the credit

After the $100 credit, usage bills at cost: calls $0.014/min, texts $0.008, video $0.004/min, AI voice $0.09/min, AI actions $0.02. A2P 10DLC registration is required for US business SMS, Thorbis submits it automatically.

Payments (pass-through)

Payment processing is pass-through with no Thorbis markup: card 2.9% + 30¢, ACH 0.8% ($5 cap), instant payouts 1.5%. You stay the merchant of record, no monthly minimums.
