Inventory & Price Book

Price-book rebuild

In progress

A modern price book with versioning, margin controls, and a structure that scales with you.

Overview

Price books grow into a tangle where nobody trusts the numbers and a bad edit can quietly cut your margins. Thorbis is rebuilding the price book on a modern architecture with version history, margin controls, and clear organization. You'll change pricing with confidence, see who changed what, and protect your margins as costs move.

What we're building

Price books grow into a tangle. Items pile up, nobody fully trusts the numbers anymore, and a single bad edit can quietly cut your margins on every job that uses that line, with no way to see who changed what or roll it back.

Thorbis is rebuilding the price book on a modern foundation with version history, margin controls, and clear organization for items, assemblies, and categories. You change pricing with confidence, see the full history of every edit, set margin floors that protect you as costs move, and roll back a change when something is wrong. It is built for shops whose pricing has outgrown a flat list and needs structure they can actually trust.

What you'll be able to do

  • Track version history on every price change
  • Set and enforce margin floors on items
  • Organize items, assemblies, and categories cleanly
  • Roll back pricing changes when needed
  • Update costs and see margin impact before saving
  • See who changed a price and when
  • Build out assemblies from priced items

How to send useful feedback

Name the blocked role

Product feedback is more useful when it names the owner, dispatcher, technician, office user, or customer affected.

Explain the workaround

Describe what your team does today and where the process fails under real work.

Define success

Share what would change after launch: time saved, fewer manual steps, cleaner records, or better customer follow-up.
