Dispatch & Work

Progress payments

Planned

Collect deposits and milestone payments on bigger jobs without juggling manual invoices or chasing the balance.

Overview

On larger jobs you need a deposit up front and payments at milestones, but stitching that together with manual invoices is error-prone and slow to collect. Thorbis is building progress payments that tie deposits and milestone billing to the job. You'll bill as the work hits each stage and collect on schedule, so cash comes in throughout the project instead of all at the end.

What we're building

On bigger jobs you need a deposit up front and payments as the work hits milestones, but stitching that together with manual invoices is slow and easy to get wrong. Miss a milestone bill and you are floating the customer's materials and labor until the very end.

Thorbis is building progress payments that tie deposits and milestone billing directly to the job. You collect a deposit before work begins, bill at each defined stage as the work gets there, and track the outstanding balance across the whole project. Cash comes in throughout the job instead of all at once at the close. It is built for contractors running larger projects who can't afford to wait until the final invoice to get paid.

What you'll be able to do

  • Collect deposits before work begins
  • Bill at defined project milestones
  • Tie payment stages to the job
  • Track outstanding balance across a project
  • Improve cash flow on larger jobs
  • Collect on a schedule instead of all at the end
  • Avoid floating a job's costs to the final invoice
